Free to Fight

John 8:32

You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

God sent us His truth so we would know Him – His character, His promises, His provision, His protection. The enemy will flood your mind with lies to deceive you into following his plan, but the truth of God’s Word will set you free from the lies that ensnare you. God’s truth also frees us to fight.

When we think of being free, we often imagine a carefree life with no worries, burdens, or responsibilities. God never promised us ease. Truth sets us free to fight the enemy. When we gird the truth of God’s Word around us, it holds the rest of our armor in place so our hands will be free to fight and our feet are free to step out into the provision God has destined for us.

Faith is applying that truth to our everyday life. While we may know the truth, it is meaningless unless we apply it and give it ability to operate within us. Without faith – applying what we believe – it is impossible to please God.

God’s Word is true, whether we believe it or not. It sets us free when we believe and apply it. Allow the truth of God’s Word to set you free today. Stop believing the lies the enemy has planted in your head, and determine to act on what you know to be true in God’s Word. Be free to fight, and step into God’s promise.
