God of Jacob
Psalm 20:1, 4
May the LORD answer you in a day of trouble; may the name of Jacob’s God protect you. May He give you what your heart desires and fulfill your whole purpose.
God’s amazing grace is portrayed in this passage as we see how Jacob’s God treats His children. While Jacob was a deceiver, trickster, and manipulator who wrestled with God, God was still with him and enabled him to fulfill his purpose. What I find truly amazing about His grace is that He knows all our faults, weaknesses, and failures before they happen, yet He chooses to use us in His great plan and bless us anyway.
What does your heart desire? God writes His purpose for us upon our hearts so He can lead us to the great plan He has for us. If our heart is not in it, we won’t do it with the full exuberance and excellence that success requires. Quite often, we must hunger and thirst for something enough to be willing to reach for it. When we do, we find God’s grace reaching back with fulfillment in hand.
God designs even our trouble to work in our favor. If your efforts to fulfill your dream have failed, surrender to His grace. Examine the desire of your heart, and trust Him to grant it. The God of Jacob is your God, and He loves you enough to hold on to you when you are at your worst. You have not blown it or failed beyond the measure His grace can sustain you. Believe once again for the things your heart desires, and trust the One who wrote it on your heart. He will finish the good work He has started in you.
Have a blessed day!
