Return with Joy
Luke 2:20
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had seen and heard, just as they had been told.
The shepherds went back to their fields and their lives as changed men. The dullness and boredom of their ordinary routine caved to shouts of glory and praise to God. We don’t know what happened to these men afterward, but their experience left them feeling joyous and blessed. They had learned to take God at His word and that when you least expect it, you can experience a blessing so great that it takes your breath away.
God is always working in our lives, even when we can’t see Him, hear Him, or feel Him. At some point, He will alert you to what He has been doing, and you can choose to go where He tells you or remain where you are in disbelief. God will not lie to you or set you up for false hope and disappointment. He is doing something praiseworthy in your life that you don’t want to miss. Your experience with Him will reveal God’s glory and draw you to praise. Your alternative is to remain in your dullness and nothingness and wish something would happen.
Believe God’s word to you and act on it. Praise Him for the miracles you have already experienced. Know that He is working in the midst of your nothingness.
Have a blessed day!
