Heaven Rejoices Over You
Luke 15:7
I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous people who don’t need repentance.
All of heaven rejoices when one sinner repents. Turning to God brings joy in heaven because one more person is destined for its gates. To be repentant, one must first admit wrongdoing and a need for forgiveness. At this point, spiritual growth begins.
Notice that heaven does not rejoice over the righteous people who don’t need repentance. According to Romans 3:23, however, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. That means there are none who are righteous and not in need of repentance. Heaven doesn’t rejoice until we come to our senses and realize that we are in need of the grace of God. Realizing our need for grace stirs the heavens and brings spiritual movement and power into our lives.
We cannot be saved by our own merit. Grace is required, and the heavens rejoice when we turn to grace. We can achieve nothing without grace. Neither can we overcome anything without grace. Heaven rejoices every time we surrender our own efforts and rely upon God.
If you are struggling in an area today, realize your need for repentance and grace. Turn it over to God, and know that heaven rejoices over you. Don’t think you can do it all by yourself. Call out to God, and let Him save you from your struggle.
Have a blessed day!
